The St. Paul the Apostle Religious Education Program (RE) supports the efforts of parents in handing on the gift of our Catholic faith to our children. The program is designed to offer children and their parents opportunities not only to expand their knowledge of our Catholic faith, but also to deepen their personal relationship with our God through prayer, communal worship, and service to others.
We want our children to come together to pray, to learn, and to experience Christian values in a caring environment. In order to ensure a safe, orderly, and respectful environment, the most important thing to remember about any parish Religious Education Program is that it is meant to complement the faith education being offered to Catholic children by their parents. The parents are the first teachers of a child's faith. At their child's baptism ceremony, parents commit to raise their child "in the practice of the faith." This means bringing children faithfully to Mass each and every weekend, teaching them how to pray at home, and setting a good example of Christian living.
